Transcript: 3rd JuneSir, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th ultimo, requesting, by direction of the Oxley Shire Council, that police protection may be furnished to Greta. In reply I beg to inform you that the transfer of the Police from Greta to Glenrowan was made after full consideration on the subject. Glenrowan is but five miles from Greta, and Milewa is only eleven miles distant. I am of opinion that the protection afforded by the police at those places is sufficient for the requirement of Greta. I would not therefore be justified in recommending the Government to reform the Greta station J
